World’s Okay-est Holiday Launch

I purchased both the spicy and the sweet of these sets. I don’t have much to say about the blushes. If you like the Patrick Ta blushes, you’ll like these. They’re the same formula and lay down as the normal line. The shades are incredibly basic and I do wish the Something Spicy blush was browner. The Something Sweet blush is going to read a little peachy, but I like peachy/pink blushes. In the pan, Sweet looks like it will have a bit of beigy desaturation but I don’t think it translates to the face. Applied, both colors feel cleaner than the pan indicated. I promise if you are sensitive to thinking something looks orange even when it isn’t, you’ll complain about both of these. I however, like both colors overall but just wish there was a little more nuance in the undertones. The glosses are also the same formula as the original launch of this product, so no surprises there. The gingerbread latte scent is WEIRD. Not weird bad… but it’s extremely perfumey. It’s not like a food smell at all. It’s like a gourmand fragrance. It’s got gingerbread and coffee in it but also… campfire? It’s a delightful seasonal fragrance, not a tasty gingerbread type experience. Same goes for vanilla chai— it does strike me more food-like but it’s got a gourmand fragrance vibe more than a bakery treat vibe. Also ZERO COLOR PAYOFF. I cannot stress enough how much nonsense goes into pretending that any of these lip glosses have any discernible color difference between them. Seriously. Everybody get it together and acknowledge that these clean girl lip glosses actually don’t contain any noticeable color. All in all, unless you’re crazy about this brand, I would not rush to get these but put it on your Christmas list and see if someone gives it to you. Recommended, but only if you aren’t actually looking for a food-flavored lipgloss and don’t already have more than 2 blushes.
