It doesn't smooth the hair
Pros: It washes hair well. You don't need much, as it lathers easily. Cons: It doesn't smooth the hair at all. I bought it mainly for that purpose, and my expectations were as high as the advertisements suggested—especially based on the images (which they claim are not retouched). I don't know who created those before-and-after pictures, but they are definitely fake or heavily edited. My hair is natural—never dyed, never straightened—so there's no serious damage. However, after using this shampoo along with the No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, my hair remained the same: puffed up and tangled. My previous cheap grocery store shampoo did the same job, but it was five times cheaper. Very disappointed. If you're looking for a shampoo to smooth your hair, I suggest trying another brand.

You must be patient with the result
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using a wide range of hair care products over the years, I finally decided to try the Olaplex Bond Maintenance Shampoo and Conditioner. These two products are part of the larger Olaplex system, which is known for its bond-repair technology designed to strengthen and protect hair from damage. While they are often used in salons, the shampoo and conditioner are available for at-home use, making them accessible for anyone looking to improve the health of their hair. First, let’s talk about the shampoo. The Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo has a creamy texture that lathers well without feeling too heavy. A little bit of product goes a long way, which is something I appreciate considering the price point. It cleanses the hair gently but effectively. What stands out the most is that it does not leave the hair feeling stripped or dry, which is a common problem with many shampoos that aim to deep-clean. Instead, the hair feels nourished even before applying the conditioner. The scent is mild and pleasant, not overpowering or artificial, which adds to the overall experience. One of the most noticeable benefits of this shampoo is how it helps manage frizz and dryness. After regular use, I began to see a difference in the way my hair responded to heat styling and brushing. It felt softer and more resilient. The shampoo is designed for all hair types, but it is especially beneficial for those with chemically treated, color-treated, or damaged hair. In my case, with color-treated hair that had become dry and brittle over time, the shampoo made a visible difference in the health and texture of my strands. Moving on to the conditioner, the Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner is thick and rich without being greasy or too heavy. Like the shampoo, a small amount is enough to coat the hair and distribute evenly. It detangles the hair quickly, making it much easier to comb through in the shower. After rinsing, my hair feels smooth, hydrated, and more manageable. Wh
