Very little goes a long way when tamping down flyaways. Really innovative formula that is easily applied and perfect size dispenser for beach or gym bag. Makes hair look slicker and cleaner when wearing an updo or pony. Added bonus: hair feels extra conditioned after washing this away! Lovely addition to the collection!

For the silkpress girls

I am genuinely amazed by how well this wax stick works. For reference, my hair type is coarse, low porosity and medium-to-high density. I workout with my hair styled as a silkpress 3 to 4 times a week. I apply this stick directly on my edges and the nape lightly at first and build from there. I then smooth the product with my fingers (for the body heat) and continue with a boar bristle brush. I then put my headband on (I use the GymWrap by Nicole Ari Parker). From there, I do the standard after-gym care for my silkpress. I also wrap or knot my hair into bantu knots to preserve my style at night. When I tell you the edges remain laid! Better than any edge control I have tried so far. The edges are flat with a bit of texture and that is to be expected. They are baby soft too and show no signs of residue! The next morning, they look even better! I went to the gym 2 days in a row and the silkpress is still going strong. Given my hair type, a very light application on the length of my hair helps (i.e. any pressure points created by elastics, claw clips or bantu knots) -- it is almost better than oil. A very light application my coarse yet fragile ends also help tremendously, keeping them lubricated. I don't hear them snap or crunch when I run my fingers through. I also use parsimoniously the Oribe Gold Lust Oil, mainly on the ends. My hair still has body and movement. After the first use at the gym, I use less and less at each subsequent use. Oribe deserves their flowers here and I paid full price for it at a local salon. If this is also helpful: my curl pattern according to the Andre Walker system is 3c-4a (type 4) but honestly, keep in mind my hair type (and not the curl pattern) when you read this review!
