Too strong for me

This was my first retinoid product and I really wish I’d chosen the 0.3%. I had been using ascorbic acid and direct acids without any issues for a while so I got a little cocky, lol. It didn’t irritate me when I applied it, but the next day I had peeling and sensitivity. I have combination skin that ranges from normal to oily but this made my face very dry and tight after a few weeks of trying to build up a tolerance. I know everyone likes quick results, but it’s better to go low and slow with retinol. I was also using too much on my face. If it were in a cream form I’d be using a pea sized amount. The dropper definitely tripped me up and I was using 1-2 full droppers on my face and neck. 2-3 DROPS is a more appropriate amount, especially as a beginner. I recommend using the “sandwich method” with a serum and avoiding the eye and mouth area if you’re getting irritation like me. The quality of the product is pretty solid but it may not be right for everyone. I really wish there was a cream version (that’s available in Canada) because I don’t like the oily squalene texture or it being in a dropper bottle.

Excellent Intro to Retinol

Firstly, my first experiences with retinol were RX cream and very negative. I love the squalane added into this formula, as it moisturizes the skin since retinol can be very drying. I definitely think in conjunction with other products I've been using (like volufiline) my fine lines on my forehead have disappeared and my smile lines and eyes looks better because of the retinol serum. I've been using the weakest formula for a over a year and think when this bottle runs out I may go up to the next stronger solution volume.
