Aveda Men Pure-Formance Thickening Paste

Great stuff

I've tried a LOT of styling products recently and keep coming back to this. It doesn't have a strong hold, as some say, but I'm not sure why you would really want that in a thickening product. If you want to have thicker looking hair, you've probably grown it a bit longer to mask thinner areas in the first place, which lends itself to a more natural, looser look in my opinion. My hair has thinned over time and I have it 3-4 inches long approx, for which this works a treat. I feel that sort of length lends itself more to a more natural look rather than a rigid, structured one. Personal preference. Definitely thickens hair well and tames my frizz really well. I hate products that look overstyled and make hair crusty or rock hard. Suggest experimenting with quantity as it does seem to give different effects for me. You can rework this easily: I sometimes dampen a rake comb to restyle it during the day for a textured, separated look at the front. For me, it gives enough of a base level, natural hold without being rigid. Neutral on the scent but that's true of many products and this is a far better quality scent than most. Would be good if there was a variant with a bit more shine (but not super high gloss).

Very Light Hold

Unfortunately I am disappointed in the thickening paste as I was expecting it to have a good hold, thicken up my hair a little, but it didn't. It's definitely not for me.
