Matte Finish = Versatile Formula

Ok, so it looks like they discontinued the shade that I adore (Lights Out) so I’m leaving this review on the next shade that I planned to get. I was skeptical about this lipstick at first, but really loved the softness of the formula despite being matte, so I’ve played with it and here are my findings: This lipstick is a secret multitasker! First and foremost, let me say that this is the first ever true matte lipstick that I’ve used that is also non-drying. The color pay off & the way the formula feels on my lips is absolute perfection. With the right moves, you can create anything from a perfect “my lips but better” stain to full glam. If you want a swipe & go lipstick, make sure you have a steady hand when using this. Since the formula is so soft, it can make precision application difficult. With that said, if you’re wearing liner, it’s easy peasy to fill in. Whether or not you’re wearing liner though, I can assure you this lipstick does NOT bleed! I love both dabbing this over some balm for a light stain, or wearing it with full on lipliner & gloss if I’m feeling extra. It’s also absolutely perfect if you’re going for a messy Courtney Love look, because it won’t smudge past where you want it to. Knocking one star since the application has a bit of a learning curve, but otherwise, this is everything I would want/expect in a “prestige” product.
