Ingenious Scalp Potector

My hair has never been healthier! The technology behind the scalp protector is ingenious! Initially, I missed my old dryer because I was used to the high heat and felt that was needed to dry my hair efficiently. After sticking with just the Dyson Nural for a straight week, and not turning the scalp protector off manually, I’m convinced otherwise and see the benefits already. My hair is soft, smooth, and not dry and coarse as it was previously. I cannot appreciate Dyson and this amazing dryer enough!

Not worth it, wish I could return it

It’s just OK. I don’t think the new “smart” features are worth the price tag. The scalp protection mode doesn’t work good enough. The technology can’t sense when it’s close to your scalp, it senses when it’s close to ANYTHING, including a styling brush. So when I need to hold the concentrator very close to the brush to style my hair, the Dyson thinks it’s my scalp and reduces the heat. This leaves not enough heat on my hair for styling and the dryer is basically in low heat mode the entire time. If I turn off the scalp detection mode and leave the heat in steady temperature, then I’m not truly getting the scalp protection when I need it. The handle is not ergonomic and after 5-10 mins my hand starts to slip down the grip. I also don’t like how the fan speed increases, then decreases before you can increase it again. It causes one extra click of a button when I want to go from high to low speed. It goes back through medium to get to low, instead of starting over at low from the start. It’s not as quiet as I was hoping for, and the cord is super fat & thick, and has a power brick built into the cord like it’s a laptop cord. This makes the overall weight and mobility of the dryer too heavy and not easy to pack in a suitcase. The thick cord takes up too much space. Overall, my hair looks great and I love how silky my hair feels, but for this high price tag, some of the fine details were missed that really makes a difference to me. I would love to return this, but I threw the box away already like an idiot because I was so excited and assumed I would love this hair dryer. Unfortunately I don’t love it for the price.
