A woody and masculine scent that settles close.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] There’s a slight coffee note in the initial spritz, but to my nose that disappears fairly fast and gives way to the woods and lavender. There’s something in here that makes this scent a little sharp and cloying to my nose, possibly the citrus. On my skin, this projects fairly well for a bit before I start to go a little nose blind to it, but it settles close and lasts a while. I would wear this on a date night during fall and winter. Personally, I wouldn’t wear this to the office or causally while running errands. It definitely reads more as a special occasion scent to me. Interestingly enough, as I’ve been writing this review, im able to pick up in the coffee note again in the dry down. I think the way Devotion PHF settles on my skin works a lot more for me than my reaction to the initial spray. While I wouldn’t purchase a bottle of this due to how cloying the initial spray is for me, I can see this being a great masculine scent for someone who likes a woody and aromatic cologne. I wouldn’t recommend a blind buy though, definitely one to sample before you purchase.
