Overwhelming Black Licorice

I rarely write fragrance reviews as I understand everyone's chemistry is different. I usually love Kilian fragrances, but this one was disappointing enough to make me write a review. I gravitate toward smoky, tobacco, oud, and deeper, more masculine scents—but this is NOT IT. The black licorice note is overwhelmingly strong and, to my nose, horrendous. It does soften a bit as it dries down, but that licorice quality never fades enough to make it wearable for me.

A good buy for me

I really like this. Started with a blind buy travel-sized and recently bought a full-sized. Loved it very much. It slightly reminded me of Tom Ford Black Orchid. This one has a good balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky; maybe some may find it a bit on the masculine side.
