Extracted from 80-year-old trees using traditional methods, this priceless oud has leathery, animalic, elegant, woody and ambery facets. “Because I was born in Grasse, I have a special relationship with natural ingredients,” he explains, “and I am always seeking out new olfactory profiles. When I first discovered it years ago, oud was a true revelation. For me, it is the woody note of tomorrow.”

With Cuir, he has given the classic ingredient a strikingly edgy twist, matching it with a wholly unexpected partner: violet leaf. “The texture and patina of oud are lightened and enhanced by the violet leaf note, whose natural green sensation is tinged with floral softness,” Fabrice Pellegrin explains.
