Not a substitute for MAC’s studiofix + foundation

I was sent here after seeing online recommendations to try this powder if you were also a victim of MAC’s changes to their studio fix powder + foundation formula change. I was very optimistic but unfortunately, this powder only scores a 6/10 for me when compared to MAC’s old formula. For the price it is, I’m actually happy that it is’t going to serve as my substitute. I did not get the coverage I was hoping too and I also felt it exaggerated the dryness of my skin, even when paired with moisturizer and primer. Did not last all day like my MAC one used to, either. Also it’s quite large, so on a night out in a small purse, this could take up some prime real estate

When It’s Good, It’s Flawless

I like that this is a powder foundation—it feels lightweight and natural. When it goes on evenly, the coverage is beautiful, but I haven’t been able to achieve that consistently. It comes with a sponge, and I’ve found I get better coverage using that compared to a brush, which might just be due to my lack of experience with this type of makeup. Still, when I get it right, I love the finish. I’ll definitely buy it again for those good coverage days.
