Not Wheat Free

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] This Kérastase hair masque is nice and thick, and I did notice an improvement in my hair texture—it felt more hydrated. However, it made my eyes water. I personally think it was the scent; in my opinion, it smells like a more intense perfume version of plain bar soap. For a hair mask, I generally prefer something fragrance-free. If they fine tuned the scent a bit, I could see it being much better. I believe the reason my eyes were watering was that it contained wheat protein. I feel a bit silly for not checking first. Due to my allergy, I had to stop using it immediately. I didn’t have a reaction, but I didn’t want to risk it. It rinsed out clean, no residue or greasiness hair looks clean and refreshed. That said, I did see some improvement in my hair I felt it was softer and much more hydrated, especially when combined with their new serum for split ends. Overall, if you have a wheat allergy, this is a no go. I truly hope that someday companies will stop putting top allergens in products. I understand the benefits for hair and skincare, but it’s frustrating. I really wish they would make a wheat-free version of this. Photos before after

Closest thing I’ve found to a holy grail

I have severe PCOS, which has left me with very fine/thinning, weak, wavy hair that’s always extremely dry, frizzy, and super easily damaged. Even after being extremely gentle with my hair, it would still feel rough and unmanageable. The littlest thing will damage my hair. I started using the Kérastase Nutritive mask in place of conditioner. I wash my hair 2-3x/wk and leave it on for about 5mins. I’ve never had a “holy grail” product before due to my weak thinning hair from the PCOS but this mask is pretty dang close! It’s the only product I’ve found that actually makes my hair soft and manageable. My hair is very damaged and porous and this smooths the cuticle so it tangles less and feels healthier/easier to brush. I hate how expensive it is, but a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it for almost a year and keep coming back to it even after trying other conditioners and masks.
