Hydrating and beautiful color!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have dry lips so I always look for products that are hydrating and don't dry me out. I was excited to try this hydrating lipstick and I loved it! The ingredients are moisturizing, and the color is beautiful and long-lasting. I love that it feels lightweight but looks still very rich! Shine? Hydration?? What am I missing here...

This went on dry, pasty and like a crayon dragging on my lips. I don't have good luck w/this brand I guess since it's the only other MAC one I road tested recently. That one was a matte finish which looked horrible and drying. Sadly this seemed as matte as that one. No shine or luster, simply dry in texture and without any slip. Def wasn't what I expected from something that has the words sheeer-shine and "luster" in its name. All I ever use are lip products which actually meet such a description. The color was also quite faint, and I didn't want to tug on any more product because the tacky heavy texture with a small amount proved this to be a no-go from the start.
