Very good but don’t overdo it!

Sauvage is an overhated DNA. Elixir is very potent, and honestly the reputation suffers from people who don’t realize it’s so strong and overspray it. It very much states your presence after one spray. It’s opens with (to my nose) lavender and grapefruit, alongside already developing the ambroxan and spice bomb it becomes. It’s beautiful. This perfume ‘s occasion is for nights where you want to be known, but preferably not as the guy who sprays sauvage elixir everywhere. Don’t let this perfume wear you, but wear in moderation.

Beast Mode Fragrance!

I didn’t want to try Sauvage due to all the hype. Although Francois Delmachy is one of my favorite perfumers, I dismissed the whole line. I finally bought a bottle of Sauvage elixir and I couldn’t be happier. Fall/Winter must have! It’s a warm, woody, and spicy scent that projects more than you want and has amazing longevity. It’s a little harsh on the opening but the dry down is perfection. It’s not for everyone, I was not a fan of licorice at all but it does blend nicely in this fragrance. It adds some complexity to offset the sweetness and the freshness you get from the lavender. I would call this an oriental Fougere, though I think it’s technically called a spicy woody fragrance.
