(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I tried The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque because I have blemish-prone skin and was hoping it would help with breakouts. The texture is thick and applies evenly, and I did feel like my skin looked a bit cleaner and less oily after washing it off. However, it didn’t work well for me personally. After using it, my skin became irritated and I experienced an allergic reaction—redness, itching, and small bumps. I stopped using it right away. I think it might work for people who tolerate salicylic acid well, but if you have sensitive skin like mine, I’d recommend doing a patch test first. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t suitable for me.
