I’m Sadly Underwhelmed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try these shadows, especially the shimmers; however, they left much to be desired. I tried the shade Affogato, which is the darkest shimmer shade. The color blended into my tan/medium-deep skin tone, and because these aren't traditional shiny shimmers but low-lit shimmers, they didn’t stand out on my eyes. I think the shimmers work best when applied with fingers for the most impact. It's VERY subtle, but still pretty. I also have to disagree with the 16hr wear time. I applied this shadow on both bare and primed eyes, and I have noticed creasing pretty early on. Overall, I think it is an ok, everyday shadow; it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe if I chose a lighter shimmer shade, it would give me the look I am searching for.

Beautiful (Very) Soft Bronze Shimmer

Affogato is a beautiful warm bronze with a softer, low-lit shimmer that makes it very wearable. The formula applies smoothly, blends effortlessly, and can easily be built up depending on how much definition and shimmer you want. I especially like that it doesn’t become patchy as you add more product. There is some powder kick-up when picking up the shadow, so I recommend tapping off the excess before going to the eye. That isn’t a dealbreaker for me, especially considering how beautifully the shadow blends and performs once applied. Overall, this is a very pretty, user-friendly shadow with great color payoff and a lovely finish. I would give it a solid four stars.
