Great Hold and No Residue—Just Needs a Bit More Product

I’m really impressed with The Controlling Type Hair-Thickening Edge Control Gel. It does exactly what it promises—smooths and holds my edges in place without any flaking or residue, which is a huge plus. My hair looks sleek and polished, and it lasts throughout the day without needing constant touch-ups. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I do have to use a pretty generous amount of product to get the same level of hold I’m used to with a generic brand I usually pick up from my local beauty supply store. It still performs really well, but I go through it a bit faster than expected. Overall, it’s a great product if you’re looking for a clean, residue-free finish—just be prepared to use a little extra to get your desired results.

Love the texture and viscosity of this edge control. It’s very taffy/honey pliable and takes my gray edges better than beauty supply grade edge control. Plus the smell is outstanding!
