I'm annoyed that I like it as much as I do.

I'll be upfront, I resisted buying this for ages because the name alone sounds like it's trying too hard. Youth revitalising. For a shampoo. But I'd had good results with other Kérastase products so I talked myself into it, and now I'm annoyed that I like it as much as I do. It's a thick, pearly shampoo with a scent that I can only describe as expensive. Not perfumey or overwhelming, just that sort of luxurious smell that lingers in your hair for hours after washing. Multiple people have asked me what I'm wearing on days I've used it, and it's the shampoo. Every time. A small amount lathers well, which I appreciate at this price point. I use about a two pence sized amount for long thick hair and it's enough. It rinses clean without leaving any residue or that squeaky stripped feeling cheaper clarifying shampoos give you. My hair feels soft even before I put conditioner on, which honestly no other shampoo has done for me. After blow drying, my hair has more shine than usual and feels thicker somehow. Not thicker as in more volume necessarily, but each strand feels stronger and healthier. The "youth revitalising" claims I take with a pinch of salt. My hair looks good when I use it. Whether it's actually younger in some meaningful way, who knows. I'm not sure what young hair even means. But it does look and feel healthier, and that's enough for me. Would I call it life changing? No. Would I call it the nicest shampoo I've ever used? Probably, yes. And that's an irritating thing to admit about something this expensive.
