Doe-foot applicator vs. real life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in Crystalline which I thought would go well with my medium, warm skin tone. It mostly hit the mark though there's a blue-ish sheen that I wished was a warmer undertone instead. But really, I enjoyed this formula — so much so that I used it as a chapstick, applying liberally and all the time. At some point, it started to stink, probably from being contaminated with lingering food oils on my lips or something. Sadly, I had to throw it out while there was still a lot of the product left. I have a similar lip balm gloss that's comes in a little pot requiring me to apply with my finger. Even though the Overglaze doe-foot applicator is more convenient, from my experience it seems I'm more likely to ensure my hands are clean before applying the other product than I am going to ensure my lips are 100% free of any food oils. Maybe not the most helpful review, but thought I should share.
