Good for Retinol Beginners
I have completely used up this product after several months, and find that the retinol concentration is just too weak for me. For reference, I am 32 and have used Retin-A in the past. I saw the claims of retinol delivered in a way to not irritate the skin and have found that to be accurate. However, after several months of use, I did notice that my skin texture and pore appearance had gotten worse, probably because I’m used to stronger products. It was not a lack of skin hydration because I didn’t have eczema, breakouts, etc… and I even noticed I had to switch to a lighter moisturizer because my skin was more hydrated than normal (retinol can usually dry your skin out but like the product claims, the concentration and formulation in this product makes it less so). I switched to a clinical retinol and my skin improved after that, and went back to my heavier moisturizer too. I did experiment and used this on my body skin and it immediately got rid of body acne, so I know this serum is actually active / doing something. I think this would be a great serum for beginners who have never tried retinol but are afraid of any irritation. But for people who are used to higher concentrations, this is not it. Great product, just not for me.
