bad smell

I got a sample, I wanted to love this but it smells like a mix of cardboard and watermelon. Pretty sure at least one of the oils used is rancid, hopefully not the case for full size.

The formula is great, but the sample smelled bad. It made me wonder if it had been sitting for quite some time before I received it, especially since the packaging states an 8-month shelf life.
